THE MONKEY TREE RESTAURANT

 

The upstairs a la carte eatery is well known for its relaxed atmosphere and worldwide cuisine. Executive Head Chef Peter Smith and his team create dishes from global influences but are careful to include locally sourced home grown comforts and familiar favourites along with one or two surprises. 

 

 

SUNDAY LUNCH

 

SUNDAY LUNCH is available in both the restaurant and bar and is an informal affair with families welcome. As with all the menus we try to ensure that as much of the produce as possible is from local farmers and producers as well as making sure that whatever we can't find locally is supplied by highly reputable specialist wholesalers. We recommend that you book for Sunday Lunch if possible.

 

 

PRIVATE HIRE

 

The restaurant is available for private hire for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events or "just because". We can accommodate up to 70 people seated. Please contact a member of management well in advance of your preferred date.

 

 

PETER SMITH – EXECUTIVE HEAD CHEF

 

Peter is well known throughout Nottingham and apart from winning a few awards is probably best known for being Head Chef at the long lamented "Sonny's" throughout most of the 90's. He has also displayed his culinary skills at Sonny’s in Barnes, Parade in Kensington, La Boheme and more recently as proprietor of The Plough at Normanton on the Wolds.  Peter has been proprietor or Head Chef at The Monkey Tree (previously Da Vinci) since 1999 and has kept up his philosophy of high quality, creative cooking without losing sight of the local, traditional food everybody loves.
